Having opened in May 2011, the Melia Tortuga Beach & Spa is quite simply in a class of its own in Cape Verde!

The 3 & 4 bed detached villas have their own private garden and plunge pool and the 4 bedroom villas are situated on the edge of the beach. All accommodation has been designed and furnished to a very impressive standard.
Located in the south of the island, just 20 minutes from the airport, the short transfer adds to the never ending plus points this resort has to offer. Just a 10 minute taxi ride away, lies the main town of Santa Maria. Explore the local shops offering some typical Cape Verdean arts and crafts, stopping to have a drink in one of the many bars and taking a stroll along Santa Maria beach.

Our opinion: The Meliá Tortuga Beach & Spa is a little bit of paradise. It offers a great mix of adult facilities plus separate children’s pool and mini club providing activities to be enjoyed throughout the day, making this resort suitable for couples and families. The perfect holiday location.
